Lately, the British universities announced boldly their plan to return stolen Benin sculpture of about 100 years ago which is however thrust by the federal government.
In recent years, the bronze sculpture symbolizing an Oba of Benin was looted amidst the colonization effect and powers. However, the Nigerian federal administration has urged the new age to return the symbols of the African culture. However, it’s success is likely alleged.
According to prof. George Boyne, he laid emphasis saying:
“It would not have been right to have retained an item of such great cultural importance that was acquired in such reprehensible circumstances”
