Nollywood actor and politician, Yul Edochie have cautioned the house of representatives to forgo entitling Nollywood movies to the cause of massive ritualistic activities in Nigeria.
This came shortly after the house of representatives blamed Nollywood for massive ritualistic activities condoned by the Nigerian youths in the 21st century.
Reacting to their claim, he made references with himself vowing that he knew about intense ritualism in Nigeria at his teens.

Defending his claim, the father of two detailed that hunger and poverty are the real cause of highly ritualistic activities experienced in Nigeria to date.
Taking to his Instagram story, he wrote:
“From when I was a kid in the eighties I started hearing about ritual killing in Nigeria. Then there was no Nollywood. Hunger and poverty make people to do crime. No be Nollywood cause am.”
“Nollywood is only showing what happens in society. Nigerians are wallowing in extreme poverty. A hungry man is an angry man, fix the country and crime will go away. Don blame Nollywood. Frustrated people use sniper to commit suicide, the remedy is to fix the reason for the frustration, not to ban sniper”.
