The Governor of Lagos state Sanwo Olu has suggested that resolving the Twitter ban in the Nigerian internet space would have been easier if Twitter had headquartered in Nigeria.
The Nigerian governor speaking on the saga of the Twitter ban in the Nigerian internet space outlined that if Twitter bored want easy access to the ban they should have switched their African headquarter to Nigeria.
Speaking to the media today, he announced that the federal government banning Twitter was to ensure that all platforms across the world respects the Nigerian federation as he urged them to come and resolve the situation in Nigeria rather than allowing Nigerians to violate the law by accessing Twitter through VPN.

In his words, he said:
“On both sides, there are issues that can be resolved between Twitter and the Government and I think what they’ve done is not a ban but a suspension like they said, so in the period of suspension let us sit down
“So in the period of suspension, let’s sit down, if we have 40 million users of micro-blogging user and they chose to take their investment to country with five million users, it speaks to the reason why we also need to have that conversation with them so that perhaps if they have an office here things would have been done along quicker and better,”
