The Brazilian iconic fighter advanced to break the record for the shortest time between three world title defenses, displacing the title held by Ronda Rousey.

“I would actually choose to defend my belt. For me to go to a lower weight class, it would take some time and preparation. For me to go to a higher weight class, it also takes more preparation. So right now, the way it is at light heavyweight is perfect.”
Pereira left Middleweight after Isreal Adesanya shocking defeat stripped him his belt. He advanced to lightweight and dominated the events with three victory in a row.
Perhaps, The Brazilian nightmare has staked this as a future plan as he is keen on respecting his friend Sean Strickland who is expected to face Dricus Du Plessis in another highly anticipated title bout.
He is also linked to advancing to Heavyweight to challenge the interim heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall if Jones retires.
